Concept and design for a series of 4 Indian Adult Colouring Books for Hachette Books, to target Indian consumer as well as appeal to the international segment. The four themes that were decided were - Gond art from Madhya Pradesh, Madhubani from Bihar, Rangoli patterns and motifs and designs from the wide range of Indian textiles.
I worked closely with Gond artist, Subhash Vyam on the Gond book and Navin Kumar Jha on the Madhubani book to come up with a range of patterns that would be fun to colour in and yet stay true to the original art form. The patterns for the other two books were sourced from a wide range of stock sites, wooden printing blocks and actual rangoli patterns.
